About Angie

Hey there! I’m a born and raised BC equestrian and I’m so excited to be here!

I consider myself super lucky to have had the opportunity to grow up taking riding lessons & attending pony camps. After high school, I went to UBC Okanagan where I got my Bachelors of Management. In my third year of university, I was starting to burn out and felt the need to get back into horses to recharge my soul. I started working with the local horse rescue where I eventually became their equine director. This is how I found my heart horse and I am thankful for her every single day.

In 2018, I found myself living down in the Lower Mainland once again and I got back into a regular lesson program. After a 13 year hiatus from lessons, I definitely needed a new riding wardrobe! Thus began my obsession with finding good quality, fashionable, technical & bank account friendly riding clothes. This is how I found EQ Athletica! I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this supportive team & I look forward to helping this business grow. EQ Athletica

EQ Athletica was founded by Manon Schuten, in Olds, Alberta Canada in 2017. Manon has been riding since she was 6 years old. Throughout her riding career, her main focus was dressage, as well as leisurely hacks in the countryside.

EQ Athletica was born from the need for functional and technical equestrian wear with a price tag that’s fair. After selling her first pieces she realized that online sales are the trend. However, she missed the personal contact. At that moment our current business model was born.

Manon finds it very important to focus on the social aspect while selling our products. Some personal attention is something we get less and less by purchasing online. At EQ Athletica we want to do it differently. We want to be part of the local communities.

It’s also important to her that every single item of our collection is tried and tested-by herself and a team of experienced riders, to be able to offer you the best quality products.
